How Does Acid Heap Leaching Of Copper Oxide Work?

The new process of extracting copper from copper oxide ore has the advantages of short process, low investment and operation cost, simple operation, short leaching cycle and high copper recovery rate, which can realize the environmental protection, high efficiency and rapid recovery of copper from copper oxide ore. It is especially suitable for the treatment of copper oxide ore with large mud content, easy to muddy and poor permeability.

This new heap leaching process of copper oxide by acid method includes the following steps:
1) The oxidized copper ore will be screened after being broken in the second stage, and the upper part of the screen will be sent to the storage yard for conventional acid heap leaching operation; the lower part of the screen will be sent to the thickener;
2) The underflow of the thickener enters into the granulator and the acid resistant crushed stone carrier to mix and granulate after adding the binder to adjust the slurry, so that a layer of copper oxide is covered on the surface, and the mineral particles suitable for heap leaching operation are obtained;
3) Mineral particles are transported to the storage yard by conveyor for heap building and acid leaching;

4) In the process of leaching, the change of acid concentration and copper concentration in the leaching solution is monitored in real time, and the acidity and spray intensity of the spray solution are adjusted in time according to the monitoring data
5) In the storage yard, the copper rich leach solution after repeated circulation and spray is extracted, back extracted and electrodeposited to obtain cathode copper products, and the raffinate solution is returned to the heap leaching process after oil removal or impurity removal.
After the copper oxide ore is broken in the second stage, it can be screened by high frequency vibrating screen, the granulator can be cylindrical rolling granulator, and the conveyor can be belt conveyor.
